Mackenzie Financial

Although I had a great time on my volunteer trip to China and volunteering in a genetics lab in Toronto over my 2010 summer, I wanted to get a job somewhere that I could get some real experience and knowledge about what I was studying just weeks later. After hearing about a summer hiring call at Mackenzie Financial I decided to interview – with my luck, they were almost all upper year university students and I was only coming out of grade 12. Although this only made me more worried that I wouldn’t get the job, it made it all the better when I did.

School ended and soon after, I walked into Mackenzie Financial for my first day of work. Following the typical procedures and orientation I began my first, real, business-related job. Seven weeks, one time getting stuck in an elevator and many packed lunches later and my time was done.

All I could do after was say goodbye and look into what I wanted to do next summer.
